Our Curriculum

Our syllabus for this year includes 6 Parshiyos, 2 Mesechtos in Mishnayos, Halacha, Yediyos Kloliyos and much more. However, it’s not just lip service — we want the boys to live the learning.

The material we use took me years to create, and should not be shared with anyone outside of the classroom. Sheets and review questions live behind each boy’s login, so a talmid or a parent can get to them without a shared password floating around.

What we learn

Chumash & Rashi

Each unit comes with its own Pesukim, homework, and Shorashim sheets.

Mishnayos

Two Mesechtos across the year, learned perek by perek.

Halacha

Siman by siman, with the practical questions the boys actually ask.

Parsha

Six Parshiyos in depth. Sheets go up before Shabbos.

Yediyos Kloliyos

The Melochos of Shabbos, question words, and the Mishnayos song — much of it set to music so it sticks.

Navi

Shiur with review questions to go through at home.

Kriah

Timed practice all year. See below — the numbers move.

Kriah underpins everything

All of our Limudim require a fairly strong level of Kriah. Without being able to read fluently, it becomes difficult to move ahead, and ultimately hinders the learning. It is not difficult to improve Kriah, it just takes practice.

Last year, we completed Tehillim 14 times, which gave the boys oodles of practice.

Start of year

49s

class average for a Kapital, with 3 mistakes

End of year

29s

with no mistakes

However, practicing at home is even better. It should not be a battle — rather more of a reward based opportunity. For ideas or to discuss, please contact me at your convenience.
